BioDonna Guldimann Bio

After other careers in teaching and arts/adult school administration, Donna Guldimann pursued her interest in gardening and took it in another direction – landscape design. She graduated from the Ornamental Horticulture Program at Foothill College, where she was involved with the award winning design at the San Francisco Flower and Garden Show.

Donna has been a volunteer at Gamble Garden for many years, starting out as a garden maintenance volunteer, and ending by retiring from the Board of Directors in 2006, after co-heading the Adult Education Program.

Donna Guldimann PhotoAs an active gardener herself, Donna maintains an ever-changing and evolving garden. Her interest is in new plant materials, which means she is always adding, editing and enhancing. This is the best way to understand first-hand what plant succeeds where.

A member of APLD (Association of Professional Landscape Designers) since 2000, Donna has been involved with the program committee and co-chaired the APLD Member Garden Tour. A photograph of one of her gardens has been chosen to be included in the 2008 APLD/Monrovia calendar.
